Under the Sea History and Facts
Under the Sea parties have been a terrific theme for several generations. Only with Disney’s Little Mermaid has there been a rejuvenation of this theme. Making your own Under the Sea party invitations and decorations is a cinch because the theme is so broad. For a fun invitation to your Under the Sea party, cut out shells from coral colored paper and highlight with glitter. Any color glitter would help make this spectacular invitation stand out with guests.
Crafts ideas are plentiful at Under the Sea parties. One simple but fun idea is to purchase different colored sand and glass bottles at a local craft store. Have each guest pour in different colors of sand at time to make a great decoration for their room at home! This will require some adult supervision as sand can get quite messy!
For outdoor fun have a crabwalk race. Create your crabwalk course by drawing a starting line and finish line in the grass. Have all the participants line up at the starting line facing away from the playing field. Have them sit down facing away from the playing field and in the sitting position have them lean back on the palms of their hands and to use their hands and feet to move backward. The winner is the first child to reach the finish line. For large parties divide the group into heats and have the winners of each heat race for the ultimate victory. No matter how you throw your Under the Sea party guests will have a great time swimming around!
