Scooby Doo History and Facts
Created in 1969, Scooby Doo is a great choice of party theme as both the little ones and their parents can get in on the fun. Guests can have a blast recalling the great monsters and mysteries Scooby and his pals have foiled through the years. However, one thing is no mystery; you’ll need plenty of Scooby snacks to keep this party rolling. Consider baking cookies in the shape of dog treats, ghosts and witches.
Due to the long-standing popularity of the show, Scooby Doo invitations and party ware is easily found at party stores, discount stores and many sites online. If you’d like to show your creativity and make your own invitations, try decorating postcards as the Mystery Machine. You could also scare up some guests with invitations showing some of the most memorable ghosts and villains of the show.
The Mystery Machine is also a great idea for a Scooby Doo themed cake. Bake a rectangular cake and a small, circular cake. Cut the circular cake in half and place the semicircles on one long side of the rectangular cake to form the silhouette of the van and its wheels. Now, all that’s left is to frost your masterpiece. If you’re feeling a little more confident in your carving skills, try cutting an outline of Scooby’s distinctive head profile from a large rectangular cake.
Scooby Doo is among Saturday morning’s most recognizable characters. Why not use this fun, lovable cast of friends to create an exciting and fun party that will have your guests laughing and talking until well after the last mystery is solved, plot is foiled and Scooby snack is devoured?
