Have a motorcycle in the garage to ride on those nice days and if you love Motocross this is a place to visit in the United States is Danville, Virginia. Which is located just a half-mile away from the North Carolina and Virginia border, with Milton North Carolina being on the banks of the Dan River. Motorcross racing is held on an international level with the FIM Motocross World Championship season getting underway. There are two locations in the United States used for this competition and one of those two is in Danville, Virginia at the Virginia International Raceway and is the starting point of competition beginning on April 8 and ending on October 16. The race track being used is commonly known just as “VIR” for short and is a road course located in the nearby community. The VIR hosts amateur and professional events in automobile and motorcycle racing, it also has a driving school and private test rentals. The city of Danville is an independent city in the state and is bounded by Pittsylvania County, Virginia and Caswell County, North Carolina. Looking back into its past, history shows that the city was the last capital of the Confederate States of America. The city has more churches per square mile than any other city in the state of Virginia. The city has seen both the good and bad times as evident of its past in the civil war to the more current issues. Boundaries between states were not always well defined and so in 1728 one William Byrd set off on an expedition to determine just that, what was the boundary between Virginia and North Carolina. During the summer the party made camp upstream from where Danville is today. In 1792 the first white settlement was found along a spot where the river was shallow enough to allow fording of the river. More ideas for Motocross
