Green Lantern History and Facts
The Green Lantern is a super hero with a lot of history behind him. That makes for a great party because it gives you so much to do and so many characters to draw from. The party colors are green, black and white. Use any other colors in the decorations that you want but leave out yellow. The Green Lantern does not like the color yellow. Invitations can have a printout of the green lantern on them, glued to card stock or they could be in the shape of the Green Lantern's ring. To start the decorations fill green and white balloons with helium and tie silver ribbons to them. Tie Green Lantern rings to the ends of the ribbons. Make sure the ribbons are long enough so the kids can reach the rings. The Green Lantern is often a member of the Justice League, so you could put up a poster with the other members of the Justice League on it. When the kids first arrive give them half masks and plastic capes and let them pretend to be members of the Justice League who are helping the Green Lantern.
As the party continues let the kids each get a ring from the ends of the ribbons as a party favor for helping the Green Lantern. Put Green Lantern posters on the walls and cutouts of the Green Lantern in action poses. For these, printout or draw a male action figure, color his outfit in green and black. Be sure to color or draw a ring on his finger. The party supplies can be green, white and silver. Try using plain green cups, silver plates and white napkins.
