Cinco de Mayo Party Planning
Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican festival and is a celebration of the great Mexican culture. The Mexicans have great respect for this day and celebrate the festivities with proper party planning to make it special.
The party planning includes making irresistible invitations with the date, venue, suggested costume, and anything that they can bring along like a Mexican dish that they have prepared themselves. To make it interesting send sombreros, the beautiful Mexican hats with the invite glued on, or buy Margarita glasses and write the invite on it with sketch pens or markers. Make computer printouts of your own designed invitations.
Advance party planning preparations can include some of the favors or return gifts that you can send everyone home with could be Toy Maracas, Small cactus potted plants, straw sombreros, small clay pots filled with red and white flowers, you should also offer beaded thick necklaces. Mexican key chains will be nice or even small intricate coin purses.
Now comes party planning for food. There is a lot you can choose from for food. The Mexican Fajitas with Salsa and Tacos, Nachos as beginners, queso, refried beans, enchiladas and tortillas with lovely cheese and bean fillings could be a few you could make for the party. The food should be served in wicker baskets or rattan baskets, or food safe clay pots.
For drinks serve Margaritas, rum, then daiquiris and Mexican wines. For the non-drinkers arrange juices and punches and mock tails.
Hire a Mariachi band to play Mexican music to create the flowing ambience. If you can't afford that you can have a karaoke bar and for the youngsters you can have a piñata.
For the kids, organize a hunt, with Mexican smallies that they can hunt for. Have a small screening of Mexican life on film or video or play Mexican song videos. The decorations should include bright string lights, lots of green plants, candles, piñatas and colorful pots.
