Beads
If you are planning a Sensational Sixties Theme Party, you need to remember how much a part of the sixties culture beads actually were, and incorporate that into your Sixties theme party! Bead stringing parties were all the rage, and the longer and funkier the beads were, the better we all liked them. If your guests are too young to use a needle and beading thread to string their beads, just get larger, wooden or glass beads and use a stiffer thread like fishing line, so it can be fed through the beads without using a needle. Just be sure to help tie the fishing line when they are finished stringing their beads, since it can be difficult for children to do on their own.
Consider having awards for the longest beads in a single string, the most colorful beads, the most original design, etc. or give out strings of beads as party favors at your sixties party. Take photos of the party boy or girl with each of his or her guests and put captions on them with a photo program and print them out, so each guest can take home their own groovy momento of their Sixties party!
Another option to use beads at your sixties party would be to decorate simple T-shirts using beads, and embellish or personalize using gel or glitter fabric paints. The shirts can usually be purchased inexpensively at dollar shops. You can use beads to decorate the shirts (or if your partiers are old enough to use a needle and thread let them decorate with beads and personalize their shirts with fabric paints) and give them out for Superb Sixties party favors to all your guests!
